Activity Search : Wake Boarding
Imagine snowboarding or skating on water! The thrill of gliding across the water, the exhileration of hitting the wake created by a speedboat, the adrenalin rush as you are catapulted into the air and the ecstasy as you land cleanly on the other side of the wake. It is easy to understand the addictive appeal of wakeboarding!
From a cold start most people will ride a short distance in their first lesson. Anyone with other board sports experience will hit the ground running due to the crossover, especially with snowboarding. Wakeboarding is one of the world's fastest growing sports.
Anyone who is confident in the water should give it a go, either behind their own boat or at any of the ski clubs or schools in Wales.
Wakeboarding in Wales is a lifestyle as well as a sport and you will usually find high profile events throughout Wales such as the Wakestock Festival in Abersoch each summer, its influence is seen not only on the water but in the shops, bars and restaurants. Other popular spots include Penarth near Cardiff, Deeside in Flintshire, and the lakes at Llangorse, Alwen (nr Denbigh) and Bryn Bach Park, Tredagar.
