FKS Kitesurfing School
|
You will be taught by Alex Tritten, the 2002 British Kitesurfing champion, or one of the BKSA/IKO instructors with years of experience in teaching Kitesurfing. Groups of more than 4 pupils are given a reduction of 10%. We also cater for corporate groups, birthday parties, stag nights etc. |
FKS, since 2001. Right when the first inflatable kites were introduced to the UK, Alex was there flying them with Dave at Funsport. No choice at the time, they learnt the worst possible way, on their own. It took months of cursing, bruises, damaged equipment until they were able to do it! Now it is widely acclaimed that Kitesurfing is a safe sport to learn if it is done in proper surroundings and supervision. It is easier to learn than windsurfing for example, because we can separate the kite flying experience from the board riding experience, before putting it all together. There are two ways you can learn: one on one with an instructor, you will progress fast and every single mistake you make will be noted immediately. In a group of up to four per instructor, you will be paired in a buddy system and learn from others’ mistakes as well, with a little less hands on time. Both have proved effective in their own way!
One-to-One Course, 4 Hours
Wetsuit not included
Private tuition. 4 hours £160. We run these courses mostly week days and aim at the perfect learning conditions (15 to 20 knots, south or south westerly winds). The course is geared up for the beginner or the intermediate student who wants to learn fast and fly the kite 100% of the time. It is a good idea to complement your two day beginner group course with a private tuition day to polish your skills before buying your own equipment!
Group Tuition
4 students max per instructor, 8hours
Wetsuit not included
Group tuition. 2 day courses, 8 hours, £185 per student. Max ratio: 4 students per instructor. Get a 10% reduction if you bring in a full group. This course is geared up for complete beginners, no skills required! You will learn to fly power kites safely before going into the water, aiming at trying out the board towards the end of your second day. We use the buddy system so you can rest in between your flying sessions. Wind required: 8 to 20 knots on first day, 10 to 24 knots on second day.
